QYB will synthesise a 40-mer to order, characterise it properly, and send you a document pack that would survive a regulatory audit. It will also sell you a 5 mg vial of semaglutide with a one-page certificate. Both are the same company. The difference in documentation between its two channels is the largest we have measured anywhere in this directory.

The record
Nine independent purity determinations on storefront material, mean 97.7%, range 96.5–98.9%. Three custom-synthesis quotations obtained for comparison included, as standard, identity by LC-MS and amino-acid analysis, purity by two orthogonal methods, counter-ion content, water content and residual TFA.
We asked the company to explain the gap. The answer, in substance, was that custom-synthesis customers pay for characterisation and storefront customers do not, which is honest and also an argument for buying the characterisation. When we asked what a storefront order would cost with the custom document pack attached, we were quoted a figure roughly 2.4× the catalogue price. That number is the most useful thing in this dossier: it is the market price of knowing what you have.
The 2008 incorporation and the Shanghai address are documented. The company has answered every factual question we have put to it, including uncomfortable ones, which places it in a minority here.

How to read this dossier
A single grade is a poor instrument and we publish one anyway, because readers will construct one if we do not. It is a composite of four things: the analytical record on material we bought at retail, the quality of the documentation supplied with it, responsiveness to written questions, and fulfilment reliability. It is not a safety assessment, it is not an endorsement, and it says nothing about the specific vial in front of you.
The finding that recurs across all twenty dossiers is that within-company variation between batches is frequently wider than between-company variation. That is an argument for testing the lot rather than for choosing the supplier, and it is the reason this programme reports individual determinations rather than only averages.
