The Purity Question
A fourteen-part investigation into what a purity percentage means, who produces it, and why two laboratories analysing the same vial can both be right.
The trade runs on a single number printed at the bottom of a certificate. This series takes that number apart: the gradient that produced it, the wavelength it was read at, the peaks that were excluded from the integration, the reference standard it was compared against — and the entirely separate questions it was never asked to answer.
